Iraqi American Community Foundation holds its first youth festival in Michigan
The Iraqi American Community Foundation held its first youth festival on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at the Civic Center Park in Madison Heights, Michigan.
A large group of youth from our Iraqi-American community participated in the preparation and management of the festival. The festival included book exhibitions, games, henna tattoo, and gifts that were given to young people. Everyone joined in a meal and refreshments.
The audience enjoyed music played by Bassel Haddad on the guitar.
The MC for the festival was Stathis Ramo; in his speech he encouraged the youth to fulfill their hopes.
The keynote speaker for the festival was Yusser Al Qazwini, who has a PhD in communication engineering, and is involved in painting and theatrical drama. She talked about her experiences in the theater and art. Dr. Yusser urged the young people to pursue their scientific achievements, their dreams, and their artistic aspirations.
The festival was filmed and covered by Jaafar Al-Moussawi from Al Iraqiya Satellite, and Haitham Al-Dafadi from Sky Michigan.
