The Iraqi American Community Foundation holds its annual youth festival in Michigan
The Iraqi American Community Foundation held its annual youth festival on Sunday, June 30, 2019, at the Halmich Park in Warren, Michigan.
A large group of youth from our Iraqi-American community participated in the preparation and management of the festival. The festival included book exhibitions, games, talks, and prizes. Everyone joined in a meal and refreshments.
The audience enjoyed music played by Bassel Haddad on the guitar.
The MC for the festival were two young students, Rita and Maryam who encouraged the youth to fulfill their hopes.
The keynote speaker for the festival was Dr. Najwa Shaja, a Dentist, she talked about her experiences in coming to the USA. Dr. Shaja urged the young people to pursue their academic achievements, their dreams, and their artistic aspirations.
The festival was filmed and covered by Haitham Al-Dafadi from Sky Michigan.

The Iraqi American Community Foundation holds winter festival for school students
The Iraqi American Community Foundation held a winter festival for school students on Sunday, Nov. 4, 2018, from 3 pm to 7 pm in Bellagio Banquet Hall in Warren, Michigan.
The festival included providing winter supplies, backpacks, books, and stationery for students and young people, also free meal was provided.
The festival we managed by our youth.
The festival included a book fair donated by the Sterling Heights Library.
The audience enjoyed music played Khadr Al Awad.
Attorney Tad Tameem Roumayah spoke at the festival, and urged young people to stay in schools, and to continue their academic achievements. He encouraged the young students to and follow their dreams and academic aspirations. Attorney Roumayah spoke about personal, social and humanitarian rewards, that can be obtained if ones follow up educational achievement and knowledge.
Ms. Shurouk Al-Tamimi talked about her experience as a teacher in Michigan and encouraged the young people to continue their studies and reach their goals.
Certificates of appreciation were given to the speakers and the media.
Then the audience sat down to enjoy a free meal, followed by distributions of student’s winter supplies.

Iraqi American Community Foundation holds its first youth festival in Michigan
The Iraqi American Community Foundation held its first youth festival on Sunday, August 12, 2018, at the Civic Center Park in Madison Heights, Michigan.
A large group of youth from our Iraqi-American community participated in the preparation and management of the festival. The festival included book exhibitions, games, henna tattoo, and gifts that were given to young people. Everyone joined in a meal and refreshments.
The audience enjoyed music played by Bassel Haddad on the guitar.
The MC for the festival was Stathis Ramo; in his speech he encouraged the youth to fulfill their hopes.
The keynote speaker for the festival was Yusser Al Qazwini, who has a PhD in communication engineering, and is involved in painting and theatrical drama. She talked about her experiences in the theater and art. Dr. Yusser urged the young people to pursue their scientific achievements, their dreams, and their artistic aspirations.
The festival was filmed and covered by Jaafar Al-Moussawi from Al Iraqiya Satellite, and Haitham Al-Dafadi from Sky Michigan.
